The Trinitarian Bible Society was formed in 1831 in London, England and their first order sent abroad was in 1832. It appears to have been one hundred copies of the Bible for the use of ‘British emigrants in the back parts of Upper Canada’. 

In the twentieth century, an interest in the work of the Society grew in Canada, resulting in the first Canadian branch opening in Ontario. It eventually moved to British Columbia, and today is located in Lethbridge, Alberta. TBS (Canada) remains an active Branch with dedicated supporters and auxiliaries. The current General Secretary is Mr. William Grisnich. 

We focus on:

• Distributing to correctional institutions, schools, and community care programs.
• Raising awareness about our translations and translation projects.
• Supplying Bibles, New Testaments, Gospels, and Scripture items to individuals, churches, and bookstores.

Auxiliaries

TBS auxiliaries are local committees that work towards the fulfilment of the Society’s aims in their region. The activities of auxiliaries vary, but typically they seek to promote local Scripture distribution and support for the Society. Auxiliaries hold public meetings for worship, prayer, and/or information sharing. Some are particularly active in the distribution of God’s Word in schools, prisons, care homes, military establishments, and other places in their local areas.

There are three auxiliaries in Canada. If you wish to get involved with the work of an auxiliary or to establish one in your region, please contact us.
